Rejoov getaway to the Red Centre Easter 2020 (28 spots so get in quick)

ULURU SUNRISE

ULURU SUNRISE

Rejoov Runners is proud to announce that we will once again be running the Red Centre over Easter 2020.

Over the course of 5 amazing nights (6 days), we will show you the town of Alice Springs flanked by the East and West MacDonnell ranges and the sometimes flowing Todd River. You will get to run a couple of sections of the famous Larapinta Trail, visit swimming waterholes such as Ormiston & Glen Helen Gorge. Travel the outback way on the Mereenie Loop to Kings Canyon for the night. Then onto that rather impressive rock - Uluru and finally The Olgas/Kata Tjuta before sadly saying your goodbyes to a destination you’ll immediately want to return to.

This is one not to be missed. “iconic, peaceful, relaxing, soulful, picturesque, fun, exhilarating and so on” are just some of the feedback we have received over the last few years of running various itineraries in what is truly a remarkable part of the world. In fact we have already started receiving interest from Rejoovers that have joined us previously.

What’s different about 2020? Well in a nutshell we’re doing it all. That’s right, everywhere previously visited in one unique running experience that we guarantee will leave you with the absolute ultimate Red Centre experience. And this does not mean hectic and fast paced. You will experience fantastic running trails, fun coach sightseeing, ample time to relax, swim, grab a beer/wine, gaze at stars you never knew existed and just chill with friends but ultimately what will happen is you will absolutely unwind, decompress and lose yourself to the vastness that we will show you.

Oh and I should tell you that you will have an extra special treat that no other tour has – Greta’s Dad. Some of you have met Glen here in the big smoke but to hear and see him in his backyard is just something else. You will eat berries straight off the trees (ask Glen first BTW), learn the indigenous customs and language (yep he even speaks that too) and just soak up his 40 odd years of local knowledge.

The proposed rough itinerary at this stage is as follows (but definitely not limited to):

Wed 8th April: Fly into Alice Springs – sightseeing around town – Telegraph station / Larapinta trail run – Star gazing and outdoor BBQ dinner at the Earth Sanctuary – overnight at the Mecure.

Thur 9th April: Early breakfast before heading out in our comfy coach to run another section of the Larapinta trail – swim in a gorge – lunch in the middle of nowhere then overnight at Glen Helen Lodge watching the sunset glow off a massive red rock cliff face as we relax over happy hour.

Fri 10th April: Morning jog, breakfast, then off to Kings Canyon for the iconic rim walk before checking into Kings Canyon Resort overnight.

Sat 11th April: Morning run surprise surprise, time to chill and soak up the surrounding area before we head off to Uluru for a 2 night stopover. Once at the Rock you will have many options to partake in. Our Sat night happy hour champagne & cheese on a nearby sand dune overlooking the Rock is a highlight, as is Field of Lights, Morning Sunrise up close, a few laps running around the rock Easter Sunday and much more. Sunday night pizza and party to round out our last night together.

Mon 13th April: Just enough time to visit The Olgas before it’s time to fly out of Ayers Rock (or catch the coach back to Alice Springs via the main highway – now that is one very relaxing drive).

What’s included?????

Pretty much everything:
All accommodation (twin / double / triple share in comfortable hotel rooms & apartments)
Coach transport from the moment you touch down until wheels up
All breakfasts
All lunches
All but one dinner – we like to throw in one DIY night to ensure you have some free time to wander off
Star Gazing night / BBQ dinner
Snacks, water etc during the day
Champagne sand dune sunset
Park Entries
Expert commentary by Glen and our coach driver
All run, swim, core, stretch sessions and general coaching/planning advice from Chris & Greta
And of course any stupid Dad jokes Chris comes out with

We encourage you to do your homework on what this type of tour if it exists, would cost elsewhere. We have set the fee at a modest $1750pp to ensure you are equally well looked after and comfortable throughout but not to the extravagant level where it’s too expensive. Flights are in addition to this and as it’s only Qantas that flies there from Sydney, this is a great chance to use your FF points.

Enough from us. Over to you guys. It’s time to get a little more interested. We have max capacity of 28 adults. Sadly this is a trip suited to 12yrs plus (same price) so have a think and it will be a case of $250 deposit secures your spot (with 3 x $500 payments thereafter to spread it out). Bookings are now open.

We look forward to sharing this exciting adventure with you.

Yours in running and travelling

Larapinta Trail Experience - Easter 2018 (Mar 29-Apr 3)

We are open for bookings, please join us for our Red Centre Running Camp over Easter 2018 along the World Heritage Listed Larapinta Trail for anyone who wants to challenge themselves AND experience one of Australia's most spectacular & famous trails. Larapinta Trail is voted one of the top 20 trails by National Geographic.

There will be short & long options for 4 days (see itinerary below) and you will refresh back at the accommodation each night and swim in beautiful waterholes along the way etc. You do not have to run the whole trail as we will have shorter options to match fitness levels & we all drive in and out to access the trail each day. This will provide a fantastic taste of much of the trail. We start at one end of the Larapinta Trail, the Telegraph Station and culminate in the Mt Sonder end of Larapinta Trail.

We will co-ordinate with everyone coming, to work this all out in advance so don't feel this trip is for the hard core only. But a good level of running fitness is required so you are confident of completing these sections within the allocated timeframe.

Larapinta section 2.jpg

A long run/walk training plan will be provided to you once we receive your deposit so you can get all prepared in the coming months.

WHEN: Thur 29th March – Tues 3rd April 2018

WHERE: Telegraph Station in Alice Springs to Mt. Sonder (West MacDonnell Ranges). The trail is 223km in its entirety.

You will be required to sign a waiver in advance acknowledging that you are fit and able to participate and that you understand that you are undertaking this of your own free will. Having said all that, the trail although a little rough in parts, is quite runnable and most definitely walkable.

- You will have no more than 6hrs each day to cover your chosen trail section. Careful planning will ensure you do not over commit with this.

- Below is the Itinerary and trail section outline. Some trail section starting and ending points are actually 1-4kms away from accessible driving points (ie beyond the national park gates). Others may not be accessible in full by our coach and will require 4WD access only which we will have one of. As we progress with the planning, we will create a few different groups who will agree in advance to cover certain sections each day and will stay within whistle distance of one another at all times. There will be opportunities to swim in very refreshing water holes along the way (Ellery Gorge, Ormiston Gorge, Glen Helen Gorge, Red Bank Gorge)

The Entrance running camp Nov 2016

We are taking bookings for our Summer running camp - all levels and everyone welcome. You don't have to be a rejoov runner to come on our camps. Our next runners' getaway will take place over the weekend of November 25-28 when the weather will undoubtedly be warmer than right now so get excited as this one will be very affordable, family friendly and fun.

We're hosting this running weekend at Long Jetty / The Entrance which is a lovely little central coast township 30mins past Gosford between Tuggerah Lake and the ocean.

The venue is Lakeview Tourist park. We have booked 5 x 2 bedroom spa cabins and 5 x 1 bedroom cabins with an option to book more of these. The 2 bedders have a double in one room and a set of bunks in the other. The 1 bedders have a double bed at one end of the cabin and a set of bunks at the other end. So both are set up to accommodate 4 people with the 2 bedders offering more space and luxury (as much as a cabin will afford anyhow). Check them out at www.lakeviewtouristpark.com.au

Your training weekend will involve group runs around the town, the local flat 5km Park Run Sat morning, a beach running session, core strength and stretching, long run in the nearby Wyrrabalong national park OR the Central Coast half marathon / 10k www.centralcoasthalfmarathon.com , swimming sessions, nutritional information, running technique and also training tips provided by Chris & Greta throughout the weekend. It will also allow for plenty of rest and relaxation and some great food and socialising throughout.

Costs are as follows:

- 2 bedroom spa cabin for a couple / group or a family of 3/4/5: $775 for 3 nights

- 1 bedroom cabin exclusive for a couple or a family of 3/4: $550 for 3 nights

- 1 bedroom cabin exclusive for a couple or a family of 3/4: $400 for 2 nights

- singles in a 1 bedroom cabin - based on min 3pp: $225 for 3 nights / $175 for 2 nights. 4th person (if a couple in the double) no additional charge.

Costs include accom & breakfast, all training sessions and expert advice plus snacks throughout the weekend.

Lunch and dinner (and drinks) at own expense either self cooked or at a local cafe / restaurant.

This is a great opportunity to kick start the summer training campaign in readiness for those early 2017 events.

First in with a $100 deposit will secure the very limited 5 two bedroom spa cabins so lock it away and have it to look forward to before the silly season hits in December.

Here's some more info about things to do at The Entrance: http://www.theentrance.org.au such as markets on Sat & Sun mornings etc.

Happy training guys, please let us know your interest.

Cheers

Chris & Greta

* We have not included airfares as these regularly change and as such will be dependent on when you decide to book. Please note: Tiger only have flights to Alice Springs on Thurs 17th and back Tues 22nd. They currently have plenty of seats available but this will change. Current price as of Dec 31st - $114.95 each way plus the usual Tiger add ons. Qantas also fly there but are more expensive. SO PLEASE BOOK NOW TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT.

* We have tried to envisage every possible basic cost / inclusion. Additional costs include your alcoholic drinks with meals, additional snacks as desired, Sunday 20th dinner (we suggest Sounds of Silence outdoor dinner), souvenirs.

* There are alternative accommodation options available for Kings Canyon and Ayers Rock, with both locations offering a range of higher quality rooms. These can be quite expensive but should you wish to upgrade, please let us know.

* A deposit of $350 is required to secure your camp spot.

* Children under 5yrs will incur a fee of $395pp. This basically covers the cost of the 4WD seat and fuel plus the park entry. It also covers all the food as per the above with the exception of the included dinner at Kings Canyon April 18th.

* Please check our website regularly for updates or changes.

Port Stephens camps 2011 2012 2013

Port Stephens NSW Training Weekends November 2011, 2012 & 2013

On the idyllic NSW coast at Port Stephens just 2.5hrs drive north of Sydney.

Train hard and have a fun summer long w/e away with friends. Pristine ocean to swim in, awesome running trails, great cycling routes and endless beauty to explore.

On all 3 of our Port Stephens' camps to date we had a marvellous time. Some highlights included:
- lovely jog in the rain Friday evening around Nelson Bay / boxing & exercise session, followed by a delicious pasta / rice / bolognese / salad dinner & a fun round of celebrity heads
- Sat before brekkie - indoor cycling windtrainer / boxing / exercises / the run speed session (series of 2k & 1k reps) was sensational in the rain on the rolling dirt track in Tomaree NP that started to turn to mud - very invigorating
- Sat before lunch - water recovery / ocean swim / water running at Little Nelson Bay - a lot of fun & great recovery
- Sat mid avo - the sun came out magnificently for our soft sand beach run and sand dunes at Fingal Bay Spit. Everyone grunted and panted up the dunes surrounded by stunning ocean views, followed by a dip in the sparkling blue Fingal Bay. Some played soccer on the beach, others body surfed some waves or soaked their well deserved legs
- Sat BBQ dinner by our Beaches Apartment's pool, followed by our Rejoov trade mark Trivea night with lots of prizes
- Sun morning various activities - either long run / mountain bike / boxing session / wind trainer / water running depending on everyone's training or rehab needs
- Sun before lunch at Little Nelson Bay - core strength & stretch session on the grass followed by a water recovery session consisting of fun drills / activities plus ocean swim laps of the buoys / rehab water running
- Sunday avo R & R / sight seeing / mountain biking in Tomaree NP
- Sunday dinner in Shoal Bay
- Monday morning - cycle / mountain bike followed by a run & stretch / core exercises, brekkie and a final dip / water run / swim at Shoal Bay before checking out

Thank you and we'll keep you all posted about our next training weekend in Port Stephens or another coastal area.

Southern Highlands camp 2011

Southern Highlands NSW Training Weekend April 2011

Our April 2011 running getaway was sensational. It was based at a beautiful venue, Little Forest Cottages in a small town called Alpine which is near Bowral in the Southern Highlands. It was set on 40 acres of established gardens and bush land.

Nick: "Thanks to you and Chris for a fantastic weekend! We could not have asked for a better organized and run weekend away. Suse and I had a terrific time and learnt plenty (as well as getting fitter of course!). Yours and Chris' passion and excitement for running/fitness (and life) is a real inspiration".

Jill: "Thanks to both of you for a great weekend. I am always so impressed by how you manage to feed and look after and organise so many people with such little fuss.
It is just like the way you run, it looks effortless but probably isn't!!"
