Rejoov getaway to the Red Centre Easter 2020 (28 spots so get in quick)
Rejoov Runners is proud to announce that we will once again be running the Red Centre over Easter 2020.
Over the course of 5 amazing nights (6 days), we will show you the town of Alice Springs flanked by the East and West MacDonnell ranges and the sometimes flowing Todd River. You will get to run a couple of sections of the famous Larapinta Trail, visit swimming waterholes such as Ormiston & Glen Helen Gorge. Travel the outback way on the Mereenie Loop to Kings Canyon for the night. Then onto that rather impressive rock - Uluru and finally The Olgas/Kata Tjuta before sadly saying your goodbyes to a destination you’ll immediately want to return to.
This is one not to be missed. “iconic, peaceful, relaxing, soulful, picturesque, fun, exhilarating and so on” are just some of the feedback we have received over the last few years of running various itineraries in what is truly a remarkable part of the world. In fact we have already started receiving interest from Rejoovers that have joined us previously.
What’s different about 2020? Well in a nutshell we’re doing it all. That’s right, everywhere previously visited in one unique running experience that we guarantee will leave you with the absolute ultimate Red Centre experience. And this does not mean hectic and fast paced. You will experience fantastic running trails, fun coach sightseeing, ample time to relax, swim, grab a beer/wine, gaze at stars you never knew existed and just chill with friends but ultimately what will happen is you will absolutely unwind, decompress and lose yourself to the vastness that we will show you.
Oh and I should tell you that you will have an extra special treat that no other tour has – Greta’s Dad. Some of you have met Glen here in the big smoke but to hear and see him in his backyard is just something else. You will eat berries straight off the trees (ask Glen first BTW), learn the indigenous customs and language (yep he even speaks that too) and just soak up his 40 odd years of local knowledge.
The proposed rough itinerary at this stage is as follows (but definitely not limited to):
Wed 8th April: Fly into Alice Springs – sightseeing around town – Telegraph station / Larapinta trail run – Star gazing and outdoor BBQ dinner at the Earth Sanctuary – overnight at the Mecure.
Thur 9th April: Early breakfast before heading out in our comfy coach to run another section of the Larapinta trail – swim in a gorge – lunch in the middle of nowhere then overnight at Glen Helen Lodge watching the sunset glow off a massive red rock cliff face as we relax over happy hour.
Fri 10th April: Morning jog, breakfast, then off to Kings Canyon for the iconic rim walk before checking into Kings Canyon Resort overnight.
Sat 11th April: Morning run surprise surprise, time to chill and soak up the surrounding area before we head off to Uluru for a 2 night stopover. Once at the Rock you will have many options to partake in. Our Sat night happy hour champagne & cheese on a nearby sand dune overlooking the Rock is a highlight, as is Field of Lights, Morning Sunrise up close, a few laps running around the rock Easter Sunday and much more. Sunday night pizza and party to round out our last night together.
Mon 13th April: Just enough time to visit The Olgas before it’s time to fly out of Ayers Rock (or catch the coach back to Alice Springs via the main highway – now that is one very relaxing drive).
What’s included?????
Pretty much everything:
All accommodation (twin / double / triple share in comfortable hotel rooms & apartments)
Coach transport from the moment you touch down until wheels up
All breakfasts
All lunches
All but one dinner – we like to throw in one DIY night to ensure you have some free time to wander off
Star Gazing night / BBQ dinner
Snacks, water etc during the day
Champagne sand dune sunset
Park Entries
Expert commentary by Glen and our coach driver
All run, swim, core, stretch sessions and general coaching/planning advice from Chris & Greta
And of course any stupid Dad jokes Chris comes out with
We encourage you to do your homework on what this type of tour if it exists, would cost elsewhere. We have set the fee at a modest $1750pp to ensure you are equally well looked after and comfortable throughout but not to the extravagant level where it’s too expensive. Flights are in addition to this and as it’s only Qantas that flies there from Sydney, this is a great chance to use your FF points.
Enough from us. Over to you guys. It’s time to get a little more interested. We have max capacity of 28 adults. Sadly this is a trip suited to 12yrs plus (same price) so have a think and it will be a case of $250 deposit secures your spot (with 3 x $500 payments thereafter to spread it out). Bookings are now open.
We look forward to sharing this exciting adventure with you.
Yours in running and travelling
Chris & Greta
