Running Hot's BBQ Recipes

Running buddy, Dean Degan and I teamed up as "Running Hot" in 2015 to compete on Channel 7's exciting new reality cooking show Aussie BBQ Heroes. We wanted to showcase how runners love a good BBQ and how healthy and fun barbecue food can be. We had an amazing experience meeting the teams and the Channel 7 crew, not to mention barbecuing! I think we really took our technique and love of BBQ to the next level. We made it to the Semi-Final, but full credit goes to all the fabulous teams especially those in the Final - Wow! Their food and technique was incredible!

The balmain bugs, chicken skewers and san choy bau recipe was in fact inspired by our love of fresh sea food and living by the ocean in Sydney. The lemongrass skewers were also inspired from my family's trip to Thailand and from Dean & Julia's trip to China (for Jules amazing marathon world champs) hence the san choy bau (but our own yummy mango, avocado, bacon version).
