To prepare for our Tailwind Challenge / More than a Run - Tailwind Nutrition Australia (TNA) will provide education on using Endurance Fuel via a Zoom talk on Monday, 25th November at 7:30 pm. This will be available in both Zoom video and audio formats.
- How to carry Tailwind during marathons on the road
- The benefits of using Tailwind Nutrition as their fuel source.
- How to mix and carry a Tailwind concentrate.
- Electrolyte & Hydration: Using only gels can cause cramps due to a lack of electrolytes and liquid. The body compensates by drawing moisture from the bloodstream to hydrate. Tailwind provides a better electrolyte balance.
REJOOV EVENT >> The Tailwind Challenge - Saturday, 30th November from 6am, jump in anytime.. (tying this into the Rejoov long run and the Movember More than a Run). Tailwind Nutrition will provide all the nutrition for runners to trial Tailwind as their fuel source during the run, emulating a real-life event experience. With Tailwind covering the nutrition, participants can donate what they would normally spend on nutrition for the day (for Movember More than a Run). Tailwind Community Spirit Award to be presented the next day at the Rejoov Christmas party.

If you’re like us and feel that you need to take in any number of gels, lollies and potatoes as we did for B2M recently, spending some time listening to these guys on how the brain and gut connect, communicate and work to maintain energy levels, will reframe these current go-to strategies we all have.
So to spur this on and make converts out of all of us potentially, we are holding a “Tailwind Challenge” social long run on Movember More than a Run day – Saturday Nov 30th. Many of you may be planning on running 10/20/30, even 60km that day for More than a Run, so why not let Tailwind fuel us :)
The plan is to run Boston Laps in the park starting from 6am (or 6.30 & 7am starts >> but try to loop in with others to keep it social) with a table setup where we are ONLY going to be using Tailwind nutrition for the entire run. You will be asked to leave all other forms of nutrition in the car as challenging as that may feel at the time.
Don’t freak out - the science is there and to hammer it home, this is what the Zoom session on Monday 25th Nov will educate us on. This Zoom session will get you to start thinking more about how the body works, how we take on electrolytes and fluids and the like.
RSVP to Greta. On Sat 30th Nov, please feel free to bring anyone you would like but we would like to know in advance of approximate attendance numbers BECAUSE - all the Tailwind you require for this run will be provided by Gavin and Bek. You simply need to bring along 1-2 soft flask bottles (available from Runners Shop, Amazon, Anaconda etc), or a little bottle or at least a keep cup. This aspect is important. We will all be running with at least one soft flask or hydration pack or similar, 1-2 flasks onboard.
The idea with this run is to change our mindset away from our reliance on gels (which may not be working as well as we think) and more towards nutrition that is more efficiently absorbed thus avoiding the dreaded bonk. The objective is to maintain a consistent energy level across the whole run.

We can do two or three Boston laps or five, six or seven.., we would love you to come and take advantage of this opportunity. For those that are thinking - “what the heck is a Boston Lap?” It was devised back in 2020 simply because Chris could no longer get to Boston Marathon due to the Covid pandemic. Please diarise this one. Businesses like these really support clubs of all shapes and sizes and are very generous with their time. Tailwind in our mind has always been the easiest to drink by far so the challenge is to replace our reliance on gels with this. Can’t wait to see the results. Thanks guys,
