The tag ‘’Disneyland for athletes’’ really does apply for everyone of all levels and all ages wanting to improve their mind, body & soul in their sport. We are very excited to host a running camp here between Saturday 28th May to Monday 6th June 2016 with specialist guidance of the resort's directors. You can heighten your fitness and enjoy all the delights the resort & magical Phuket have to offer. 

We are proposing an 8-9 night package including 6 nights at Thanyapura and then 2-3 nights at a beach side Sunwing resort in Laguna close to the Phuket running festival (www.phuketmarathon.com). You can train hard for a few days and then an option would be to complete the Phuket marathon, half marathon, 10k, 5k or kids 2k on 4/5th June. You could run it as your long run or race if you want a hard hit out.

Families are very welcome as Thanyapura has wonderful indoor and outdoor facilities for kids including the Kids Club & nannies.

Checklist - to confirm your spot & complete all bookings:

1. Contact Chris / Greta - pay your $250 deposit pp - we will reserve your room at Thanyapura Sports Resort for 6 nights (Sat 28/5 to Thurs 2/6 inclusive) for you either single, twin share or family pending your request. 

2. Book your own accommodation at Sunwing on Bangtao Beach in the Laguna area (NOT the one at Kamala Beach) http://www.sunwingphuket.com/ from Friday night 3rd June for however many nights you’d like to stay - 2, 3 or 4 nights. We have booked one of the Pool access rooms at Sunwing as the prices were pretty good. We also booked the Monday night 6th June as it was included free and so we have a room all day and into the night before our late flight Monday night (it’s only 15mins to the airport so it should make it comfortable). If you get this same deal, great otherwise book 3 nights then use our room for your gear that last day.

3. Book & pay for your own flights as detailed below.

FLIGHT COSTS
Jetstar is the only airline that flies direct to Phuket and only a few times per week. Flight costs are fantastic, about $300-400 one way pp (baggage dependent). There are other airlines that can fly you there but these will incur a brief stop somewhere. All campers will need to book and pay for their own flights separate to the camp costs. Book your flight over on Saturday 28th May 2pm from Sydney to Phuket on Jetstar JQ27 then back again on the Sunday 5th or Mon 6th June. We have booked our flight direct from Phuket to Sydney on Jetstar JQ28 Mon 6th June 9:45pm. Other runners have started booking theirs. 

TRAINING CAMP COSTS
Thanyapura is truly an all encompassing sports training facility with a touch of luxury thrown in. The idea is that you can rest or rotate around the many different sports activities at your leisure so we have organized to have as many of these included in your daily rate as possible. We are even planning a blind draw, mixed doubles tennis tournament one night, which will be fun. See below for the ITINERARY, which will include the following training sessions: 

  • Running speed sessions, easy runs, long runs, king of the mountain challenge
  • Commando obstacle course challenge
  • Group classes i.e. spin, yoga, pilates, Thai boxing
  • Group cycling
  • Swim sessions
  • Gym strength / core sessions
  • Nutrition sessions
  • Meditation / mind training sessions
  • Tennis & beach volleyball comps 

For the 6 night cost of $900pp based on twin share, you will get:

  • 6 nights in a resort poolside suite
  • Full breakfast and dinner every day

10.00am:         Thanyapura led swim / stroke correction class – Olympic pool

11.00am           Free time / beach / DIY Lunch

3.00pm:           Pilates session – Fitness studio 1

4.00pm:          Thanyapura coach led trail run 30-45mins (7km loop)

5.00pm:           Happy hour – resort pool

6.30pm:           Buffet dinner provided by Thanyapura

8.00pm:           Free time

Monday 30th May:

6.30am:           Tempo / fartlek run session

7.30am:           Stretch / cool off – resort pool

8.00am:           Breakfast provided by Thanyapura

10.30am:         Stretching class – Fitness studio 1

You can purchase these at fantastic prices when you are at Thanyapura: 
(Please give an indication if you are interested so we can make sure these will be all be readily available).

The additional 2-3 nights beach side at Sunwing Laguna will also be amazing value and cost approx. $200 a night for a room  (i.e. $100pp) and will include accommodation and breakfast.

All you have to bring are training gear, casual gear and your sense of adventure!

R & R: You’ll have plenty of free time for resting and relaxing - laze in or by the pool, go for a quiet walk, have a nap, or read etc.
